Puzzle game

Storyteller, a narrative puzzle game, announced for Nintendo Switch

Writing your own creative stories can be tricky. There are characters to make up, tropes and conventions to consider, literary genres to choose from, and so much more. What if you could turn this creative process into a video game? That’s what Storyteller, one of the many titles featured on today’s Annapurna Interactive Showcase, aims to do.

Described as a narrative puzzle game, you will be tasked with creating stories from a set number of elements (ie: settings, characters, and emotions) that must match a theme or to a particular direction. Watch how it works in the trailer below:

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS

  • Play with a library full of characters and themes, featuring heroes and villains, dragons and vampires, infidelities and remorse, love, lies, madness and more!
  • Use the blank canvas to manipulate secrets and desires, kill monsters or terrorize people with them, betray lovers or reunite them. You know how the stories turn out, but this time you are the author.
  • Charming animations and comic book panel design enable unique puzzle mechanism. Use your wits to tell iconic stories – or experiment and find something new.

Storyteller’s release date has yet to be set, but we do know the game will be arriving on Nintendo Switch.
