3D puzzle game Shores of Loci is coming to Quest 2 and SteamVR next week

The first virtual reality studio MikeTeevee will be released soon Banks of Loci, a 3D puzzle game backed by beautiful and fantastic visuals. The game is slated for an early access release on Quest 2 via App Lab and SteamVR on May 24.

Although production company MikeTeevee has been around since 2011, the studio has never released a VR game before. Loci’s Shoes. Alongside the game’s initial release on App Lab (also available on SteamVR), you can expect the studio’s first draft to be rough around the edges. On the contrary, after previewing the game myself, I found a polished experience that offers enjoyable 3D puzzles with a backdrop of crisp, fantastic visuals that surpass many games you’ll find on Quest 2.

In its most basic form, Banks of Loci is like a fictional version of confusing places. While the latter allows you to gather scans of actual buildings, Banks of Loci instead cut out small, totally imagined (and quite beautiful) dioramas.

Banks of Loci is enhanced by a beautifully rendered and artfully directed surrounding environment – from the last glimpse of sunlight reflecting off the edge of the horizon, to the towering structures that surround you like silent giants – even on Quest 2 everything is superb .

The game effectively uses virtual reality as a canvas for the imagination and features some very striking and creative visuals, such as a scene transition that sees the entire world in front of you enveloped as if consumed and then regurgitated by a black hole. is more peaceful than it sounds, I promise).

Banks of Loci puzzle offers a slightly more organic feel than confusing places, maybe because of the way the 3D models you put together have volume inside instead of being hollow textures. Either way, the fundamental gameplay is quite similar in that you’ll need to use a combination of traditional confusing skills (edge shapes, color matching, etc.) with spatial reasoning to get to the point where you can crack this final, satisfying piece in place.

In addition to its beautiful visual backdrop, Banks of Loci also has an excellent audio design, with peaceful music and satisfying sonic feedback as you progress through each puzzle.
